New awareness project in 2015:
The Parc Animalier d’Auvergne has put an original tool in place to raise awareness of the population decline of these pollinating insects. 400 000 bees live in these comfortable hives in the heart of the apiscope and are a real treat for groups of schoolchildren as well as for all visitors.
Combining a modern structure and natural landscapes, and thanks to the numerous melliferous flowers that dot the winding path, the apiscope is a quality tool for understanding pollination, bees and the threats for their survival.
Educational panels with images show the essential ideas in a fun way: the individuals of the colony and their roles, their impressive means of communication, pollination methods… Direct consequences on human populations are also highlighted to help raise awareness among visitors of the need to protect these insects.
